Forest School
Forest School is a child-centred learning process, providing learner inspired, hands-on experiences in the natural environment. It's creative and can increase a child's confidence as they problem-solve and learn to manage risks.
Forest School encourages children to explore the natural environment and learn in it. It is a philosophy which promotes self-esteem, creativity, confidence, play and a child-centred learning approach. It is learner-centred, focusing on the curiosity of the child.
Within the Woodlands aera at Golden Manor we give children the opportunities to build a sense of independence, self-esteem and teamwork whilst enjoying the outdoor experience.
Our Woodland aera contains a small open glade, willow tunnel, digging area, log circle, bridge, bug hotel and a mud kitchen. a mixture of hazel, rowan, willow, oak, birch, fig and apple trees gives a small canopy. there are old wood piles to attract insects and small mammals. the children are encouraged to investigate and explore but also to respect all living things.
